CRYING CAKE (Ağlayan Kek)

Ohhhh don't worry! These are happy tears, out of eating too much sweet. I regret to say that this cake is no where near being diet-friendly but it is delicious indeed!


Ingredients:

For the cake
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • 200 g flour
  • 200 cacao
  • 80 mL milk
  • 40 mL lemon juice-water mixture (half-half)
  • Baking powder, 1 teaspoon

For the dressing
  • 400 mL milk (plus 200 mL for krem şanti)
  • 1 pack of krem şanti (or 300 mL whipped cream)
  • Chocolate sauce

Preparation:
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a bowl, mix the eggs and sugar.
  • Add flour, milk, lemon-water mixture, cacao and baking powder, mix well, preferably with an electric mixer.
  • Pour into a glaced tray and cook for 30 minutes.
  • Take the cake out of the oven and pour milk all over while it is still hot.
  • Whip the cream (or mix the krem şanti with 200 mL milk).
  • Cook the chocolate sauce (this is sold with the instructions on it but any type of chocolate sauce will do and need not to be cooked).
  • When all cooled down, spread the cream onto the cake, then pour the chocolate sauce.
  • Slice and decorate with coconut flakes if you like.
