Conversions

Here are some of the conversions I used in adopting our conventional measures into metric system. I measured all in my kitchen using measured pyrex and a kitchen scale. Remember, I am a molecular biologist and I do like measures in quantitative sense. So I'll write here my conversion chart but if it doesn't fit your cups or spoons don't worry, I tested the all the meals. So just by a pyrex and a kitchen scale and stick to the metric system.

Volume:
1 tablespoon = 15 mL
1 teaspoon = 5 mL
1 Turkish teaspoon = 2 mL
1 Turkish coffee cup = 80 mL
1 Turkish tea glass = 120 mL
1 water glass = 300 mL

Mass:
1 Turkish tea glass full of rice = 80 g
1 Turkish tea glass full of sugar = 80 g
1 Turkish tea glass full of flour = 60 g
1 water glass full of flour = 160 g
1 water glass full of sugar = 200 g
1 water glass full of rice = 200 g
