BULGUR PILAV (Bulgur Pilavı)

According to wikipedia, bulgur has more proteins and fibers and also has a low glycemic index. If you are on a low carb, high protein diet, you probably devoid of rice pilav. So here is a good substitute. Enjoy bulgur pilav, as it is well appreciated in most parts of Turkey.

Ingredients:
  • 200 g bulgur
  • Butter, 1 tablespoon
  • 300 mL hot water

Preparation:
  • Heat the butter up in a saucepan, add bulgur and roast for 5 minutes on a low heat.
  • Add the hot water and salt.
  • With the lid half-closed, cook until all the water is absorbed by bulgur by mixing at intervals.
  • Turn the heat off, close the lid and leave it to rest for 15 minutes.
