RED CABBAGE SALAD (Kara lahana salatası)

This is not a recipe actually, because it is so simple you cannot even call it a recipe at all! It consists of only red cabbage, some olive oil and salt, maybe lemons. Yet I love the flavor and I think it matches fish perfectly. Red lettuce itself is so intense in flavor, it doesn't need anything else to accompany. So one vegetable makes up a whole salad by itself.



Preparation:
  • Cut the red cabbage in half, remove the outer leaves.
  • Slice one half as if you're slicing a loaf of bread.
  • Sprinkle with olive oil, salt. If you like it a bit zesty, you may add some lemon juice.
  • Serve with fish or with any other meal.

  1. i would recommend marinating the red cabbage with salt first. add salt, rub intensely, and wait for about 15 minutes. then wash the salt away with water, repeat couple of times. then add whatever you want on the red cabbage. it softens the leaves and makes the cabbage easier for your stomach as well.
