COOKIE WITH WALNUTS (Cevizli Un Kurabiyesi)

Ingredients:

  • 250 g margarine (brought to room temperature)
  • 1 egg white
  • 50 g starch
  • 200 g icing sugar (use the half inside, half to dust)
  • 700 g flour
  • Baking powder, 1 teaspoon
  • 200 g crumbled walnuts
  • Vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon (or a pack of vanilin)
  • Cinnamon, 1 teaspoon

Preparation:
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a bowl, mix the margarine, egg white, starch, and icing sugar (half of it). Add flour, baking powder and vanilla and knead all together.
  • When it comes to a dough, grab walnut sized pieces, open up in your palm a bit, put a teaspoon full of walnut inside and close again, giving a round shape. 
  • Press gently on top, lay on an oven tray.  
  • Cook for 20-25 minutes.
  • After it cools down, dust with icing sugar.
